Aceh is located at the northern tip of Sumatra Island. Aceh's population consists of various ethnic/tribal, one of which is Gayo tribe. The Gayo tribe is a tribe living in the Gayo Highland, in central Aceh Province. The traditional Gayo tribal areas include Bener Meriah, Central Aceh, and Gayo Lues Districts. This region is known as one of the best coffee beans in the world, namely Gayo Coffee. Located in the highlands, making this area dominated by plantations and agricultural land. In addition to its famous coffee, in fact, many locations that can be used as a tourist destination in Gayo Highland as known as The Land above The Clouds, one of which is Pantan Terong.

Pantan Terong is a tourist attraction that offers charming scenery, as well as cool air that is free from pollution. Geographically, Pantan Terong is located in Gayo Highlands, Bebesan Sub-District, Central Aceh District. From the peak of the Pantan Terong, tourists can see the natural beauty of green hills, housing, and plantation residents. In addition, tourists can also see other tourist locations, namely Laut Tawar Lake.

Laut Tawar Lake is located in Gayo Highland, Central Aceh District. The lake has an area of ​​5,472 hectares with a length of about 17 kilometers and a width of 3 kilometers, and a varied depth that can reach up to 50 meters more. At first glance, the vast expanse of blue lake water looks like the ocean. Beautiful natural panorama around the lake can be used as an interesting spot as a background for taking pictures. This lake has various species of flora and fauna that live in and around it. Depik fish is one of the endemic fish that inhabit this lake.
